Kristin Venable, Principal
Kristin Venable has served as principal of Indian Valley Elementary since 2016. She is proud to be part of a school community where staff, students and families work together to create an inclusive and enriching learning environment. At Indian Valley, the belief is that all students deserve opportunities to grow academically, behaviorally and social-emotionally.
Venable brings a wide range of experience to her leadership role. Before becoming a principal, she served in several roles across multiple districts and states, including administrative intern, reading specialist, fifth-grade teacher, kindergarten teacher and junior high teacher. She has worked in five different school districts and three states, supporting students across ten different grade levels. These diverse experiences have shaped her belief in the power of collaboration, dedication and passion to help all students reach their full potential.
Outside of school, Venable enjoys spending time with her two children, Reid and Taylor, both high school graduates. She also enjoys reading, traveling, exploring Kansas City, and spending time with friends and family. A fan of local sports, she loves cheering for KU basketball, Sporting KC and the Kansas City Chiefs.
She looks forward to continuing her work with the Indian Valley community and to another fantastic year of growth and learning.
